Happy Sunday night! Today’s guest of honor is something near and dear to my heart…maybe God’s greatest gift to earth. I’m talking about the French…vanilla…butter cream frosting…CHOCOLATE…donuts!! You’ve got it…dessert! While I am a lover of all things chocolate, we are going to talk about a variety of different mouth watering desserts. The 2nd thing (which I love most after chocolate of course) is the gift of variety. At a wedding why should your guests have to choose between chocolate and vanilla cake? Give them options! My favorite is the dessert buffets…lots of variety AND it can be decorated/arranged super cute.
I know what you’re asking… ”What types of desserts are good for a buffet?” The wait is over my friends…
1 tier cake: It gives those cake-loving guests what they like while giving you and your groom something to cut.
Cake balls: Because it’s cake…in ball form..DUH!
Chocolate covered pretzels: Classic!
Fruit tarts: *gasp* No chocolate?! These make your guests that lack the sweet tooth happy.
Chocolate covered raisins: Because we like to think we are healthy :)
Cheesecake shooters: Two words—cheesecake and shooters. You cannot go wrong with cheesecake in shooter form.
Cookies: Because if all else fails, your guests will like cookies.
Gluten Free Options: We can’t forget about the guests who are allergic to gluten.
Another reason why I love dessert buffets is that they also double as favors! Get a small bag/tin, stick a cute saying on it and place on at each chair. Throughout the night your guests can fill them up and save some tasty treats for later.
With all of the other planning going on in preparation for this big day, sometimes we don’t think about how to be unique and make it something the guests will find different from the rest! When it comes to the dessert, we immediately picture a big, beautiful tiered cake that the bride and groom so adorably cut together then pass out. Why not try something new and exciting that will make you happy AND your guests happy?!
XOXO
